Appreciated Securities

Giving appreciated stock may offer a tax-saving benefit by avoiding capital gains tax on the increase in value of your security. To receive the tax benefit, the donor should not personally sell the security, but transfer it directly to Eagle Hill.

Qualified Charitable Distribution

Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) gifts must be issued directly from your IRA to Eagle Hill School. To qualify, you must be 70 ½ years or older at the time of the gift, and gifts cannot exceed $105,000 per donor. If you are age 73 or older and need to take a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), a QCD can count towards your RMD without increasing your income taxes.

To make a QCD, please contact your IRA administrator for instructions.

Are gifts to Eagle Hill tax deductible? 

Eagle Hill School is an exempt organization as described in section 501 (c) 3 of the Internal Revenue Code, and gifts are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law. Gifts of appreciated stock may offer additional tax benefits. Donors will receive an acknowledgment and receipt for their taxes.
