EHS Concussion Protocol

Our policy at Eagle Hill School is to remove athletes from play or activities if there is even the slightest suspicion of a concussion, and seek medical intervention and/or convey information to parents (who will then follow through with medical evaluation, at their own discretion).

If a student needs to be removed from play, coaches will complete a detailed checklist and provide an informational handout to parents regarding concussion protocol.

If parents are present, coaches will defer to them with respect to medical treatment; however, the informational handout will still be provided.

If a player loses consciousness, one of the coaches will immediately call 911 (Eagle Hill is less than five minutes from a major hospital).

Athletes will not be allowed to return to play until written clearance from a physician is provided to Nurse Reid.
