The music program at Eagle Hill stimulates an interest in and appreciation for music.
By listening to musical pieces from a variety of genres and time periods, students are able to learn about musical history as well as the orchestra, families of instruments, etc. Developing an understanding of rhythm and melody is accomplished through age appropriate use of sing and dance-alongs, use of percussion instruments and Orf instruments, and learning how to read music. Many students discover a previously untapped talent for playing music while others find enjoyment in the hands-on learning provided in music class.
All students emerge from the music class with an enhanced understanding of the elements and styles of musical expression.
Eagle Hill also has a choir program that is comprised of approx. 40-50 Upper and Lower School students. The choir practices during call-back periods and performs two full concerts each year on campus at Eagle Hill, as well as at other special events.
