Technology Committee

During the past five years great changes have taken place in the technological capabilities and in the ways in which technology is utilized in the classroom at Eagle Hill. During this time every classroom teacher has been provided with a laptop computer, the school’s network has been extended to every classroom wirelessly, and a laptop program has been implemented in the upper school.

While much has been accomplished during this time, familiar challenges continue to face the school:

1) To integrate technology into all areas of the curriculum.

2) To ensure that all children have ready access to technology.

3) To provide teachers with current technology, support and training.

4) To utilize the resources of the Internet while protecting students.

5) To build a technology plan that is flexible enough to change with - rapidly developing hardware and software.

The Eagle Hill Technology Committee, created in 2004, along with the Technology Department, will be responsible for implementing a long-range action plan that includes, but is not restricted to, the following:

1) Develop the technology standards required for EHS lower and upper school students, teachers and staff.

2) Develop and implement an on-going process for assessing and monitoring the technology-related skills of the students and teachers against the above standards.

3) Make recommendation for training programs for EHS lower and upper school students to help them meet the above skills standards.

4) Make recommendation for ongoing professional development opportunities that encourage faculty to use the state of the art technology in their teaching.

5) Evaluate software that enhances the students’ learning and retention of content and production of output.
