Lower School Science Program

The Science program is designed to provide valuable background information, concepts, vocabulary and skills, highlighting current discoveries and applications in the field. A multi-modal approach is utilized incorporating text, study guides, lectures, experiments, demonstrations, field studies, visual aids, and technology that match the needs and abilities of the students. In most cases alternating every other year with History as a content class, students are scheduled with regard to a needs and interest criterion. Specific course titles offered depend on the individual child's age, background information, number of years they have been at Eagle Hill as well as, where they may be transitioning to. Levels of science courses include Physical Science, General Science, Earth Science and Life Science. All levels of science classes focus on and reinforce the "Scientific Method of Investigation." Each year students in the science program take part in "Operation Egg Drop" and "Science Expo" as school wide events.
