Eagle Hill School Athletics
Interscholastic athletics and physical education, designed to enhance fitness, promote skill development, and encourage a lifelong interest in sports activities, are an integral aspect of Eagle Hill School, Greenwich.
All 6 to 8 year old students participate in organized physical education classes weekly. Older students select from a range of physical education options, intramural sports, or interscholastic teams each season. Eagle Hill participates in the Fairchester league and competes interscholastically at three levels. Team sports are offered in soccer, field hockey, cross-country, basketball, ice hockey, cheerleading, baseball, softball, and lacrosse. All of the coaches at Eagle Hill are members of the Eagle Hill staff, including teachers, administrators, and dorm staff.
Eagle Hill provides opportunities for all students who elect a team sport to participate at a level commensurate with their skill. In addition to building skill and stamina, team play allows students to experience camaraderie and develop sportsmanship qualities, a sense of fair play, leadership and enhanced self-esteem.
Facilities at Eagle Hill include a gymnasium, three playing fields, and a cross-country course. To accommodate all the activities, the teams have access to tennis courts, additional gym space, playing fields, and an ice hockey rink, which are available through arrangements with area clubs and the town of Greenwich.
