Dress Code

At Eagle Hill, we take student learning seriously. It is our experience that when students follow a dress code and are neatly attired, they have increased self-esteem and improved attention, thus improving their overall approach to learning.

Lower School

  • Navy, khaki or gray chino slacks
  • Navy, khaki, gray or plaid knee length skirts, jumpers, skorts (no higher than 3” above the center of the knee)
  • Navy or black leggings, spandex shorts or tights must be worn under skirts, dresses and skorts
  • Solid colored or striped polo shirts, button down shirts or turtlenecks
  • Solid colored crew, V-neck or cardigan sweaters
  • Solid colored vests (sweater or fleece material)
  • Sneakers or closed-toe shoes

* Shirts must be tucked in until the 2pm activity time.

The following are NOT allowed for the EHS Uniform:

  • Corduroys or skinny pants of any color
  • Flannel shirts or mock turtlenecks
  • Hats
  • Sweatshirts, hooded or otherwise (even as outerwear)
  • Lace, leather, suede, or ruffled skirts

Upper School

  • Navy or khaki chino slacks with belt
  • Navy, khaki, gray or plaid knee length skirts, jumpers or skorts (no higher than 3” above the center of the knee)
  • Navy or black leggings, spandex shorts or tights must be worn under skirts, dresses and skorts
  • Solid colored or striped button down shirts and tie
  • Solid colored button down blouse
  • Solid colored crew, V-neck or cardigan sweaters
  • Solid colored vests (sweater or fleece material)
  • Sneakers or closed-toe shoes

*Shirts must be tucked in until the 2pm activity time.

The following are NOT allowed for the EHS Uniform:

Relaxed Dress Code (begins late May for Upper & Lower School)

Relaxed Dress Code begins in late May for both Upper and Lower School Students. We begin the school year in relaxed dress code, as well (for the first two weeks or so).

  • Polo-style collared shirts
  • Navy or khaki chino slacks with belt - belt for Upper School only (no cords or skinny jeans of any color)
  • Dress/Walking shorts with belt (no more than 1-3 inches above the knee)
  • Navy, khaki, gray or plaid knee length skirts, jumpers, polo dresses or skorts
  • Navy or black leggings, spandex shorts or tights must be worn under skirts, dresses and skorts
  • Sneakers or sandals

*Shirts must be tucked into slacks, skirts and skorts until the 2pm activity time

The following are NOT allowed for relaxed dress code:

  • Flip-flops/pool shoes
  • Extremely short shorts, skirts or skorts (must be no more than 3 inches above the knee)
  • Athletic shorts, hooded sweatshirts (of any kind), sweatpants or blue jeans
  • T-shirts, halter tops or shirts that cannot be tucked in

Civies Days (last Friday of every month and for occasional special days)

Civies days are the last Friday of every month and occasional special days. Students may wear casual clothing (e.g. jeans, athletic pants and shorts, t-shirts, sweatshirts, sweatpants, etc.) on civies days.

The following are NOT ALLOWED for civies days:

  • T-shirts with inappropriate comments or pictures
  • Ripped, torn, or dirty clothes
  • Exposed midriffs and extremely short shorts, skirts or skorts are not allowed on civies days
  • Hooded sweatshirts of any kind

Dress Code Violation

Any student who is not in dress code will be assigned to serve an hour detention from 1-2 pm on the Friday of the week of the infraction. Parents will be notified of any decision in this area as soon as possible.
